Mr. Abdul Aziz Qadiani ! First of all I would like to clear one misconception of your mind. Be sure I Mr Rumy is not a factious character on this page. I am alive, I write myself and I always confirm my quotations again and again. The second point is regarding to my comments in which I welcomed you to islam were in response to your posting and request "Mr. Rumy what you do more than me so that I could be a Muslim. I wait for your advice. Wassalaam. Further if possible please respond to my previous message to you on this web page." Was it you or some other factious Abdulaziz? Besure you didn't disclaim this posting yet. There are two possiblies of this controversy, either you had accepted Islam and after the Qadiani pressure you changed your mind again or it was your hypocrisy. (1)  The Messiah will be of Persian descent. (Bukhari)
(2)  Faith will ascend to the Pleiades and a man of Persian descent will bring it back to earth (Bukhari)
(3)  Hadhrat  Ubu-Hurairah narrates:    When Surah Jummu’ah of the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the Holy  Prophets, we happened to be there in his company. When he recited the verse " And there are others from among them who have not yet   joined them" 62:4) one of those present asked  "Who are they  O’ Messenger of Allah?"  The Holy Prophet did not pay any attention. The man repeated the question two  or three times.  At that time Salman the Persian was also sitting among us.  The Holy Prophet turned to him, placed his hand on him and said  "even if faith ascended to the Pleiades, there would be one man from his people who would restore faith (back) to earth  (bukhari)
 
Note:   Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a Mughal of Persian descent, whose ancestors came to the Punjab with Babar the Conqueror (the first Mughal emperor of India ), around 1506 AD.

(4) A group of people will fight in India and this group will be Imam Mahdi whose name will be          Ahmad.   (bukhari)
(5)  He will be named after the Holy prophet of Islam and he will be called  Ahmad (Ibn  Dawood)

This Hadith is For Buster:

(6)  He (Mahdi) will suffer from two ailments, one in the upper parts of the body and the other in the lower part of the body (Tirmidhi Vol. 2 p 38)
(7)  The Messiah (chosen one ) and Mahdi (Guided ) will be one and the same person. (Ibn Majah Vol. 2 p 257)
 Note:  Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be both.

(8)  At the time of the Mahdi, new means of transport will come into use and camels will become redundant (Mishhat ul   Masabih)
 Not:  In 1825, George Stephenson constructed the first public steam railway and in 1885 the first petrol driven car was built by Karl Benz. Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was born in 1835 and claimed to be the Mahdi at the exact same time of the arrival of these new means of transport.

(9)  At the time of the Mahdi, the Christian nations will hold supremacy in the world. (Timidhi)
(10)  Islam will have three centuries of greatness after which , it will ascend back to the heaven for thousands years  (Bukhari Vol 4)

Note:   Thus in the 14th century of Islam there was to be a revival of Islam (Ahmadiyyat)

(11)  The Messiah will be raised in the East (Ibn Majah)

Note :   He was born in Qadian India.

(12)  The Mahdi will descent near a white minaret in the east of Damascus  (muslim)

Note:  Qadian is to the east of Damascus and nearly on the same latitude.  The building of a Mosque in Qadian, which included a white minaret, was started by Mirza Ghulam Murtaza who was Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s father and this was later finished in Hadhrat Ahmad’s time.

(13)  The second advent of Jesus will be in the person of an Imam from amongst the Muslims  (Bukhari Vol2)
(14)  The promissed Messiah will be called "prophet" of God ( nabiyyullah) (Muslaim  Vol. 2 p515)
(15)  The pilgrimage to Mecca will be impeded ( Kan-zul-ummal, vol.6 p13)

Note : Pilgrims   from Punjab were banned from performing  Hujj because of the plaque  in 1902 which was in the time of Mirza Ghulam ahmad

The advent of this Reformer is so vividly described in the Hadith literature that Muslims of all sects of all sects and generations had been eagerly waiting for his appearance.
Since one of the name used for this Reformer in the Hadith is  "Jesus son of Mary" many simple minded Muslims started believing that Jesus Christ himself will reappear in the later days of Islam.  When Mirza Ghulam Ahmad proclaimed in 1889 that he was the Messiah whose advent was promised in the Hadith of the Holy prophet, the majority of the Muslims rejected his claim because they were looking forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ himself. In this respect these Muslims behave like the Jews of two thousands years were waiting for the second coming of the prophet Elijah.
After receiving many revelations to this effect, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad declared in 1890 that he was the same Messiah and Mahdi whose advent had been foretold  by the Prophet Mohammad himself. He declared that he was in communication with God and constantly received His revelations and signs.

The reference that you gave from Ruhani Khazian Vol. 6 page 337 is misunderstood by you.  You are talking exactly as Kafirs of Qurash used to say, O’ Mohammad you one among  us, if God wanted to send someone for us why he did not sent an angel" Mr. This is metaphorical language, exactly Quran says "…..It is Guidance for the righteous"(2:3) Now do you understand,  I repeat "Guidance for the righteous" Anyway, Just for testing:  For what would you do with this Hadith which says "the one (Messieh, Mehdi, etc.) who will come his name will be Mohammad, His father’s name would be Abdullah, And even His mother’s Name would be Amina" Will you believe in this Hadith? If You do then, the first problem of Holy Prophet Jesus’ would be to find out his father. Isn’t? What about His mother’s name & even his own?!
Therefor, It is very hard to define which Hadith is True of Fault. Yes, There is one way we can define Hadith’s truthfulness  & that is its fulfillment.  You know this Hadith about Eclipse that you said "is not identical", was THE favorite Hadith of Mullan of the time of  Ahzzrat Mirza Ahamd.  They shouted day & night that where is the Eclipse if You are a true Messiah.  And when it happened, this Hadieth became doubt-able.

Now lets talk about "sign of the Eclipses: First of all,  to understand this Hadith  you need to be "righteous" Fortunately I do not have complete reference of the hadith, But I do Promise I will provide latter.
It was your wording that you have not heard  that there will be Eclipse of moon & son when Mehdi would come. It is Lie.  I can prove this from Torah, Bible, Qur’an. Sikhs’ book & even from Gitta.
I do have the complete knowledge but I do not have complete references with me. Thus,  give me time for that. Now I will just post the fact of the fulfillment of the Hadith of Holy Prophet Mohamamd.
In the Hadith of Holy Prophet, one of the signs of the appearance of the Mehdi relates to the darkening of the sun and the moon during the month of Ramadhan. This Hadieth was recorded by Darqutni and goes as follows:
 "For our Mahdi there are appointed two signs which have never been manifested for any other claimant since the creation of the heavens and the earth. One is the eclipse of the moon on the first of  Ramadhan and the other is the eclipse of the sun in the middle of Ramadhan. These two signs have not appeared since the creation of the heavens and the earth"

Mr. Now read this carefully: An eclipse of the moon normally occurs on the 13th , 14th or 15th  night of a lunar month near the time of the full moon. An eclipse of the sun takes place on the 27th, 28th or 29th day of the lunar month, near the time of the new moon.  According to the Hadith of the Holy Prophet, the lunar eclipse was to occur on the 13th (the first of the appointed nights), and the solar eclipse was to occur on the 28th (the middle of the appointed days), of the month of Ramadhan.

 This heavenly sign was fulfilled during the time of the Promised Messiah, in exactly the way described the way described in the Hadith.  The moon was eclipsed on the 13th of Ramadhan, 1311 Hijrah (corresponding to March 21, 1894), and the sun was eclipsed on the 28th of  Ramadhan (April 6, 1894). It should be noted that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is the only person in history who has claimed this heavenly sign in support of his claim.

Mr. I am not writing this to enter in any debate with you, And I shall not enter. My purpose to writ on this page is to inform readers according to my best capability that No one will come from Sky to SAVE Islam. Because it will be the great insult of Islam to take help from one who all along his life taught Torah & followed himself on Mosaic teaching, For a while goes on break, comes back And say Lets read Qur’an. In whole essay you have tried to prove your point by different Hadithes that He "reformer" will be from the blood of Holy Prophet Mohammad.  I do believe Hazrat Mirza Mirza Ghulam Ahamd who claimed to be subordinate Prophet to Holy prophet of Islam is from the progeny of Hazrat Fatima.

But I do not understand your theory? On one hand you people say "Jesus" who was "THE son of Mary" and  THE  Jewish prophet" has to come in physical manner  from Sky.  On other hand you say  The "one " who will come will be from blood of Holy Prophet Mohammad. What nonsense is this?

How Holy Prophet Jesus who was son of "Mary" could be from the blood of Holy Prophet Mohamamd?.

Can you trust Mirza Ghulam Qadiani on anything? (In light of his own Writings)

Allah(SWT) and his Messenger(SAW) have both condemned those who forge lies and attribute those to divine revelations:

• "It is those who believe not in the Signs of Allah, that forge falsehood: it is they who lie!" [The Holy Quran, An-Nahl, 16:105]
• "Who doth more wrong than such as forge a lie against Allah, or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those who sin." [The Holy Quran, Yunus, 10:17]
• "Ascribing false things to me(SAW) is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire."... [Hadith Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 23, Number 378]

Mirza Ghulam Qadiani, himself, in his early writings wrote:

• "Telling a lie is not the lesser evil than to be an apostate." (Supplement Footnote of Tufa-Gaulroaya, p.19; Arbain, No. 3, P. 24)
• "If someone is proven a liar; he also becomes unreliable in other affairs." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 23, P. 231; Chashma-e-Mua'arfat, P. 222)

Now, let's look at a small sampling of the lies Mirza Ghulam forged later on against Allah(SWT). Mirza fabricated these statements to impress ignorant people into accepting his blasphemous claims:

• "God, in the Holy Quran, has declared worshipping Jesus a great act of mischief. It is also foretold that the plague and earth-quakes, etc. will occur when worshipping of Jesus becomes rampant. God has clarified that in the last era, all the horrible incidents on the sky and earth will appear only due to one reason: that is worshipping of Jesus." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 22, P. 498-499; Haqiqat-ul-Wahi, P. 64)

Does any Qadiani care to point out the verse in Quran where this is mentioned?

• "Naturally, the prophecies of the Holy Quran and Hadith, in which it was revealed that the Promised Messiah will be prosecuted by the Muslim scholars, must come to pass. They will declare him an unbeliever." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol.17, P. 404; Arbaine, No. 3, P. 25)

Would any Qadiani like to tell us where in Quran this fact is disclosed?

• "The Quran mentions the names of three cities with great respect: Mecca, Medina, and Qadian." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 3, P. 140, footnote; Footnote of Izala-ul-Autham, P. 34/77)

Has anyone seen a mention of the city of Qadian in the Holy Quran?

• "Look at what God has said so clearly in the noble Quran" 'No greater transgressor will be found than one who invents lies against me. And I shall destroy the liar soon and I shall not allow him time." (Tadhkirat-ush-Shahadatain, P. 34)

This lie was intended to suggest that since he (Mirza) had not been promptly stricken dead, he must have been truthful in his claim!

• "The Prophet of Allah was asked about the Day of Resurrection: when will it occur? He replied: 'Doomsday will occur within a hundred years for all the sons of Adam'." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 3, P. 227); Izalat-ul-Auham, P. 252/253/257/104)

There has never been any such saying. Mirza tried to explain his false prophecies by falsely suggesting that even our Prophet(SAW) made mistakes in his prophecies, as well!

• "It is mentioned in the True Traditions that the Promised Messiah will appear at the beginning of a century and will be a renewer for the fourteenth century." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 21, P. 359; Abrahim-Ahmadiyya, P. 188)

Absolutely Not! This was fabricated by Mirza to claim he was the Promised Messiah.

• "After all, when God and His Apostle (Muhammad(SAW)) and all the Prophets have declared the supremacy of the second Messiah (Mirza) of this period due to his great achievements; then, it is a satanic act to question me 'Why do you proclaim yourself superior to the first Messiah, the son of Mary?'." (Haqiqat-ul-Wahi, Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 22, P. 159)

Has anyone seen a Hadith where this is confirmed?

• "In the books of hadith - Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim Sharif, Dani-Ail's - and in the Holy Bible, where ever there is a description of me, the word "prophet" is written by my name." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 17, P.413; Arbaine, No. 3, P. 30)

Would someone please point out to use where the name of Mirza Ghulam is mentioned in these books?

• "Since the very beginning, the Holy prophets of God warned people that the denial of Mehdi's signs will cause this sign of lamentation on the sky." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 17, P. 151; Tufa-ul-Gaularwia, P. 62)

Certainly there is no such warning either in The Holy Quran nor Authentic Hadith. Mirza was trying to capitalize on a solar-eclipse and claim it a sign of his prophethood!

• "If one has to refer to a Hadith, more importance should be placed on those Hadiths that are more authentic. For example the Hadiths of Bukhari Sharif which foretell of some Caliphs of the last era; particularly, the caliph about whom Bukhari narrates a voice for his ratification will be heard from the sky stating: 'This is Mehdi, the Caliph of Allah'. Now, think how accurate this Hadith is, since it appears in a book most accurate, after the Holy Quran." (Roohany Khazaen, Vol. 6, P. 337; Shahadat-ul-Quran)

There is absolutely no such hadith in Sahih Bukhari Sharif books.

• "The Apostle of God, peace be upon him, said: 'when an epidemic afflicts any town, its inhabitants should leave the town at once, otherwise they will be among those who do battle against God.'" (Al-Hakam, August 24, 1907)

After over 100 years, no one has been able to find this hadith! It does not exist. After all these blatant lies against Allah(SWT) and Prophet(SAW), noone should have any doubt that Mirza Ghulam and his associates were engaged in creating and propagating Kofr in the name of Islam.

This is the end of those who support Qadianism: "Who doth more wrong than those who invent a lie against Allah? They will be turned back to the presence of their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord! Behold! the Curse of Allah is on those who do wrong!- Those who would hinder (men) from the path of Allah and would seek in it something crooked: these were they who denied the Hereafter!" They will in no wise frustrate (His design) on earth, nor have they protectors besides Allah! Their penalty will be doubled! They lost the power to hear, and they did not see!" [The Holy Quran, Hud, 11:18-20]

Identification of the Prophesied Imam Mahdi

The Holy Prophet Muhammad(SAW) has prophesied about several events that will occur just before the advent of the day of judgment. Among these, Rasulullah(SAW) has foretold the advent of one of his descendants, Al Mahdi (the guided one), which will materialize when the believers are severely oppressed in every corner of the world. He will fight the oppressors, unite the Muslims, bring peace and justice to the world, rule over the Arabs, and lead a prayer in Mekkah at which Isa(pbuh) (Jesus) will be present.

Throughtout the history of Islam, a few individuals -- driven either by the desperate state of Muslims in their community or a selfish pursuit of power and prestige -- laid claim to being Mahdi and found a following among the uninformed masses, looking for salvation from heavens. For some of these individuals (like Bab of Iran or Mirza Ghulam of India) the claim to being Mahdi was just a stepping stone to the development of heretic sects which broke away from the fold of Islam.

Thus, it is at least prudent to visit the facts of this prophecy and avoid falling pray to false claimants that will appear from time to time. As Muslims, we should remember that the prophecy about Mahdi is one that will come to pass. This prophecy, however, does not absolve the Muslim ummah from its duty to strive in the cause of Allah(SWT), oppose injustice, and seek peace and betterment of human condition. Centuries have passes from the time of the Holy Prophet(SAW) and there is a good possibility that many more will expire before the advent of Al Mahdi. Muslims who are negligent in their duty hoping for a savior are committing a grave mistake and are not following the divine decrees ordained in Quran or taught by Rasulullah(SAW).

The following are the collection of Sahih (authentic) Hadith regarding Mahdi.

• Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas'ood(RA) reports from the Prophet(SAW), who said: "The world will not come to pass until a man from among my family, whose name will be my name, rules over the Arabs." (Tirmidhi Sahih, Vol. 9, P. 74; Abu Dawud, Sahih, Vol. 5, P. 207; also narrated by Ali b. Abi Talib, Abu Sa'id, Umm Salma, Abu Hurayra)
• The Prophet(SAW) said: "Allah will bring out from concealment al-Mahdi from my family and just before the day of Judgment; even if only one day were to remain in the life of the world, and he will spread on this earth justice and equity and will eradicate tyranny and oppression." (Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Vol. 1, P. 99)
• Hadhrat Ali(RA) narrates that Rasulullah(SAW) said: "Even if only a day remains for Qiyamah to come, yet Allah will surely send a man from my family who will fill this world with such justice and fairness, just as it initially was filled with oppression." (Abu Dawood)
• Ali b. Abi Talib(RA) has related a tradition from the Prophet(SAW) who informed him: "The promised Mahdi will be among my family. God will make the provisions for his emergence within a single night." (Ibn Majah, Sahih, Vol. 2, P. 519)
• Hazrat Umme Salmah(RA), Prophet's wife, narrates that she heard the Prophet(SAW) say: "The promised Mahdi will be among my progeny, among the descendants of Fatima." (Abu Dawud, Sahih, Vol. 2, P. 207; Ibn Majah, Sahih, Vol. 2, P. 519)
• Rasulullah(SAW) announced: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of Fatima (the Prophet's daughter). (Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 2, Tradition No. 4086)
• The Prophet(SAW) told: "al-Mahdi is one of us, the members of the household (Ahlul-Bayt)." (Sunan Ibn Majah, Vol. 2, Tradition No. 4085)
• Abu Sa'id al-Khudari(RA) narrated that the Prophet(SAW) said: "Our Mahdi will have a broad forehead and a pointed (prominent) nose. He will fill the earth with justice as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. He will rule for seven years." (Abu Dawud, Sahih, Vol. 2, p. 208; Fusul al-muhimma, p. 275)
• Hadhrat Abu Saeed Khudri(RA) relates that Rasulullah(SAW) said: "Al Mahdi will be from my progeny. His forehead will be broad and his nose will be high. He will fill the world with justice and fairness at a time when the world will be filled with oppression. He will rule for seven years."
• Hadhrat Umme Salmah(RA) narrates that Rasulullah(SAW) said: "After the death of a Ruler there will be some dispute between the people. At that time a citizen of Madina will flee (from Madina) and go to Makkah. While in Makkah, certain people will approach him between Hajrul Aswad and Maqaame Ibraheem, and forcefully pledge their allegiance to him. Thereafter a huge army will proceed from Syria to attack him but when they will be at Baida, which is between Makkah and Madina, they will be swallowed into the ground. On seeing this, the Abdaals of Shaam as well as large numbers of people from Iraq will come to him and pledge their allegiance to him. Then a person from the Quraish, whose uncle will be from the Bani Kalb tribe will send an army to attack him, only to be overpowered, by the will of Allah. This (defeated) army will be that of the Bani Kalb. Unfortunate indeed is he who does not receive a share from the booty of the Kalb. This person (Imam Mahdi) will distribute the spoils of war after the battle. He will lead the people according to the Sunnat and during his reign Islam will spread throughout the world. He will remain till seven years (since his emergence). He will pass away and the Muslims will perform his Janazah salaat." (Abu Dawood)
• The holy Prophet(SAW) said: "A group of my Ummah will fight for the truth until near the day of judgment when Jesus, the son of Marry, will descend, and the leader of them will ask him to lead the prayer, but Jesus declines, saying: "No, Verily, among you Allah has made leaders for others and He has bestowed his bounty upon them." (Sahih Muslim)
• It is reported from Abu Hurayra(RA) that the Prophet(SAW) said: "What will be your reaction when the son of Mary (Jesus) descends and your Imam is from among yourselves?" (Sahih Muslim, bab nuzul 'isa, Vol. 2; Sahih Bukhari, kitab bad' al-khalq wa nuzul 'isa, Vol. 4)
• The holy Prophet(SAW) said: "What would be your situation if the Son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends upon you and your Imam is from among you?" (Bukhari, kitabul-Anbiya, Chapter Nuzul Isa bin Maryam)

According to these reliable, authentic, and universally accepted narrations, Mahdi will:

1. Be from among the family of Prophet(SAW), among the descendants of Fatima;
2. Have a broad forehead and pointed noise;
3. Appear in one night;
4. Appear just before the day of judgment;
5. Have same name as hazrat Muhammad(SAW);
6. Escape from Madina to Makkah where people will pledge allegiance to him;
7. Receive pledge and help of Iraqi people;
8. Fight in battles;
9. Rule over the Arabs for seven years according to Sunnah;
10. Spread justice and equity on earth;
11. Eradicate tyranny and oppression;
12. Lead a prayer in Mekkah which Jesus(pbuh) will follow in;
13. NOT be the same individual as the Promised Messiah (Jesus).

The following narrations have been taken from books on which there is no consensus among Muslim scholars. Their authenticity is in question.

• The holy Prophet(SAW) said: "The world will not come to an end until a man from my family (ahl al-bayt), who will be called al-Mahdi, emerges to rule upon my community." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 75; Ithbat al-hudat, Vol. 1, P. 9)
• Umme Salmah(RA), the wife of the Prophet, has related a tradition of the Prophet(SAW): "Mahdi will be among my progeny, among the children of Fatima." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 75)
• Rasullullah(SAW) said: "The world will not come to an end until a man from the descendants of Hussain takes charge of the affairs of the world and fills it with justice and equity as it is filled with injustice and tyranny." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 66)
• Abu Sa'id al-Khudari(RA) has related a tradition from the Prophet(SAW) who declared: "The earth will be filled with injustice and corruption. At that time, a man from among my progeny will rise and will rule for seven or nine years and will fill the earth with justice and equity." (Ahmad b. Hanbal, Musnad, Vol. 3, P. 27)
• Abu al-Hujaf(RA) quotes the Prophet(SAW) saying three times: "Listen to the good news about the Mahdi! He will rise at the time when people will be faced with severe conflict and the earth will be hit by a violent quake. He will fill the earth with justice and equity as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. He will fill the hearts of his followers with devotion and will spread justice everywhere." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 74)
• Ali b. Abi Talib(RA) said, I asked the Prophet(SAW): "Is Mahdi going to be among our own family or from some other?" He replied: "He will be among us. God will conclude His religion through him, just as He began it with us. It will be through us that people will find refuge from sedition, just as it was through us that they were saved from polytheism. Moreover, it will be through us that God will bring their hearts together in brotherhood following the animosity sown by the sedition, just as they were brought together in brotherhood in their religion after the animosity sown by polytheism." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 84; Ithbat al-hudat, Vol. 7, P. 191; Majma` al-zawa'id by `Ali b. Abi Bakr Haythami (Cairo edition), Vol. 7, P. 317)
• I heard the Prophet(SAW) declare from the pulpit: "The Mahdi from among my descendants, from my family, will rise at the End of Time, while the heavens will pour rain and the earth will bring forth green grass for him. He will fill the earth with justice and equity as it is filled with tyranny and injustice." (Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 51, P. 74; Ithbat al-hudat, Vol. 7, P. 9)
• Abu Sa'id al-Khudari(RA) narrated that Prophet(SAW) said: "Severe calamity from the direction of their ruler will befall my people during the Last Days. It will be a calamity which, in severity, shall be unprecedented. It will be so violent that the earth with injustice and corruption will shrivel for its inhabitants. The believers will not find refuge from oppression. At that time God will send a man from my family to fill the earth with justice and equity just as it is filled with injustice and tyranny. The dwellers of the heavens and the earth will be pleased with him. The earth will bring forth all that grows for him, and the heavens will pour down rains in abundance. He will live among the people for seven or nine years. From all the good that God will bestow on the inhabitants of the earth, the dead will wish to come to life again." (Ibn Hajar, al-Sawa'iq al-muharriqa, P. 161; Yanabi' al-mawadda, Vol. 2, P. 177)
• Abu Hurayra(RA) narrated on behalf of the Prophet(SAW): "People will pay allegiance to the Mahdi between rukn and maqam (in Mekkah)." (Ibn Tawus, Kitab al-malahim wa al-fitan, P. 64.)

According to these hadith, Mahdi will:

1. Be from the Family of Prophet(SAW) and descend from Hussain(RA), son of Fatima(RA);
2. Appear at the end of time;
3. Appear when earth is filled with injustice and tyranny and believers are severely oppressed;
4. Appear when a severe earthquaker will occur and green grass will grow (presumably in Arabia);
5. Fill the earth with justice and equity;
6. Spread brotherhood, equity, and devotion among Muslims;
7. Rule over Muslim community, according to Hadith, for seven or nine years;
8. Live and act with the qualities of the holy Prophet(SAW).

The following are narrations not attribute to the Holy Prophet(SAW) and only represent second hand narrations attributed to companions of the holy Prophet(SAW). Thus, they are included only for completeness and are unreliable.

• Ammar Yasir has related: "At the time when Nafs al-Zakiyya is killed a caller from the heaven will say: 'Your commander is so-and-so.' (announce Mahdi) Following it the Mahdi will emerge and fill the earth with justice and equity." (Ibn Tawus, Kitab al-malahim wa al-fitan, P. 179)
• Abd Allah b. Umar mentioned the name of Mahdi in the presence of an Arab who said: Mahdi is Mu'awiya b. Abu Sufyan. Abd Allah said: "It is not as you say. Mahdi is a person behind whom Jesus will offer his prayers." (Ibn Tawus, Kitab al-malahim wa al-fitan, P. 179)
• Mujahid said about Mahdi: "One of the Prophet's companions told me that the Mahdi will not appear until that time when Nafs al-Zakiyya will be killed. At that time he will take the command and will fill the earth with justice and equity." (Ibn Tawus, Kitab al-malahim wa al-fitan, P. 171)
• Nufayl's daughter Umayra narrates that she heard Hasan b. Ali's daughter saying: "This affair about which you are waiting will not occur until among you some seek to distance themselves from the others and curse each other." (Majlisi, Bihar al-anwar, Vol. 52, P. 211)
• Salma b. Zafar reports that one day people were talking about the appearance of the Mahdi in the presence of Hudhayfa. Hudhayfa said: "If Mahdi has indeed appeared while you are living close to the Prophet's period and while his companions are living among you, then you are truly fortunate. However, that is not the case. Mahdi will not appear until people are devoured by oppression and tyranny and there is no one absent more beloved and more needed than him." (Kitab al-hawi li al-fatawa, Vol. 2, P. 159)

These narrations are based on opinion of single individuals and are not reliable. However, they indicate that Mahdi might:

1. Not appear until all Muslims are divided and curse each other (i.e. no brotherhood);
2. Appear when tyranny and oppression rule and no Muslim is free;
3. Be announced by a voice from heavens;
4. Fill the earth with justice and equity;
5. Lead the prayer which Jesus(pbuh) will follow.

The following narration has not been attributed to the Holy Prophet(SAW). It has been identified as false and has been rejected by Muslim scholars for centuries.

• Amr son of Shamer quoted Jabir, who quoted Mohammed bin Ali to have said: "For our Mahdi, there are two signs. Since the birth of Universe, these events have never taken place. Those two signs are that there will be Lunar Eclipse on the first night of Ramadhan and Solar Eclipse in the middle of Ramadhan." (Dar-e-Qatni, Vol. 1, P.188) Note: This narration is not attributed to holy Prophet(SAW), but attributed to Mohammed bin Ali. No other person has substantiated this alleged statement of Mohammed bin Ali. Muslim scholars have always rejected this and other narrations of Amr and Jabir, as both have been known to transmit unreliable and forged narrations.
